THE CRAG
The crag points at SE and is suitable for climbing after 16:00 in the summertime. It features slabs with boulders, small boulders and small ramps. Rock is lower quality marble, of particular climbing style with long moves that require fine balance. Routes are max 20m and grade between 5c to 6b+.
The Baroutapothiki is a 13-route crag, created in 2019 by Dimitris Titopoulos and Antonis Tsesmetzoglou, who were commissioned by the Municipal Community Enterprise of Sifnos.
Lower quality marble. Climbs on slabs with boulders, small boulders and small ramps. Route bases have nametags.
There are 13 routes, 15m to 25m in altitude, graded 5c to 6c, of particular climbing style with long moves requiring fine balance. All routes feature safety measures with inox bolts and plates as well as inox carabiner belays.
Rope recommended, at least 60m, 15 sets, baudrier, belay device, helmet, climbing shoes.
Spring, summer and fall present ideal conditions. The crag points at SE and is suitable to climb after 16:00 in the summertime.
The crag is located at Kamares, Sifnos, and at a distance of 1.4 km from the central parking lot at the port.
ACCESS
Baroutapothiki: Orange route
On foot
Starting at Kamares square, head left towards Agia Marina. In 500m turn right towards Herronissos. After 700m exit road and continue uphill on the left, towards the mountain, following signposts for 200m towards the crag.
Total distance from Kamares square: 1,400m; from parking lot: 1,300m; from camping park: 1,100m
By car
Take the same route, as on foot. The remaining 200m are a pathway.
